Embark on your journey at 8:30 AM from Ouarzazate, heading towards the Dades Gorge. As you pass the Skoura Oasis, marvel at the numerous kasbahs standing among palm trees, with the must-see Kasbah Amredhil providing a glimpse into traditional adobe architecture. The journey continues to Kelaa Mgouna, the Valley of Roses, where locally crafted cosmetic articles are a testament to the area's abundant roses.
Pause for lunch in the enchanting Dades Gorge, where geological wonders tell the story of ancient seabeds and the gradual rise of the Atlas Mountains. Travel through the Ziz Valley, known for its annual Date Festival, Erfoud with its fossil-rich terrain, and Rissani, once the desert capital of Sijilmassa. In the afternoon, experience the Sahara with a camel ride, culminating in a breathtaking sunset atop 250-meter dunes. A you approach Agdez, ask your driver to halt for a remarkable sight: dinosaur footprints etched in the rocks next to the road. Visit Kasbah Tamnougalte, the oldest in the Draa Valley, where 13 families still reside. The return to Ouarzazate includes a climb over the Tizi-n-Tinfifte mountain pass (1660m), showcasing extraordinary rock formations. The Ouarzazate to Merzouga dunes tour concludes around 6:00 PM.
